Keynote speakers

Ella Jenkins Isabel Baker

Ella’s musical legacy spans more than 50 years. She draws on her experiences growing up and her music transcends language and cultural barriers. With Ella, learning and fun are interrelated and she is truly an honored performer. Since her first record, Call and Response (1957), Ella has released 28 albums and two videos on Smithsonian Folkways.

Isabel Baker started The Book Vine for Children over twenty-five years ago from her apartment in Chicago, Illinois. As The Book Vine has grown, so has Isabel’s commitment to excellence in literature for children from birth to five years old. She currently writes children’s book reviews for “The Reading Chair," a regular column in Young Children, a NAEYC publication.
